DanceWeb on Facebook Help

The DanceWeb Application on Facebook allows dancers to register where they dance, and share that information with their friends on Facebook.

Adding The DanceWeb Application to Your Facebook Account

Start here:
http://apps.facebook.com/danceweb/

If you have not already registered and logged onto Facebook, you will be asked to do so.

Registering Where You Dance

Go to the DanceWeb site, and find the venue using any of the many search or browse facilities on DanceWeb; the simplest way is to just to key the name of the town into the home-page search box. When you find the venue displayed, click on the Facebook Icon Facebook icon; if you are not already a Facebook user you will be taken through the Facebook registration process. Alternatively you may click on the entry for a specific activity (dance class or event etc); do you do need to click both the venue and the activity.

Using the DanceWeb on Facebook Application

You must explicitly add the DanceWeb on Facebook application to your Facebook Account before you can use it.

By default the application will show where your Facebook friends dance. Click on the link for a venue, and details of that venue, with a map, will be shown on DanceWeb. Click on the link for an activity, and details of that activity, with day and times, will be shown. Click on the link for an organiser, and details of that organiser will be shown, including all their activities, and contact details.

The Tabbed Menu also allows you to see where you dance, and delete any entries that no longer apply to you (click on the x). You can also see a list of your friends who are registered as DanceWeb on Facebook users. And you can send invitations to your friends, inviting them to add the DanceWeb application to their Facebook profile.

Q & A

Q: What if a venue is not listed on DanceWeb?
A: Request that your Dance Class organiser or instructor add their classes to DanceWeb! Or you can add the classes on their behalf. Note that venues should only be listed once on DanceWeb; they are shared (re-used) by all dance organisations.
