We are a dance school based in Nailsea & Weston-Super-Mare, North Somerset. Vickie Mitchell is the principal and is an IDTA qualified dance teacher & a level 2 wheelchair dance sport instructor through WDSA (UK). We have been providing dance and drama classes since 2000. We offer classes for both adults & children and are proactive in including disabilities having recently added wheelchair dance to our timetable. We also provide classes to people with learning difficulties/​additional needs.

Adult special/additional needs dance & drama class


Line, Freestyle, Rock 'n' Roll (Ballroom) Instruction. £7.00 for all sessions. Non-Alcoholic Bar.Dance and drama classes for adults (aged 14 years +) with learning difficulties and/or additional needs. Single class (either dance or drama can be taken on its' own at a cost of £3.50. Dance is a fusion of freestyle and line dance and the classes are designed to support students to learn at a pace to suit the group while demanding high levels of focus and energy. The drama session includes: * a variety of focus games which helps our students to improve concentration and listening skills * active drama games which help to improve physical skills and gain a sense of place and spatial awareness * improvisation games improve imagination and communication skills and team working. We work on a number of drama pieces both commercial and devised throughout the year, we also use poems and songs. The classes are growing rapidly and pre-booking is recommended for new students.

Children's Special/additional needs dance & drama


Line, Freestyle Instruction at Complete Novice to Intermediate level. £6.00 for all sessions. Bring your own drinks.This group is for young people with special/additional needs (age range 8-18 years). We offer dance from 10:00am to 11:00am, and drama from 11:00am to 12:00noon. Classes cost £3.50 per session or £6.00 if both classes are attended on the same day. Dance is a fusion of freestyle and line dance and the classes are designed to support students to learn at a pace to suit the group while demanding high levels of focus and energy. The drama sessions include a variety of: * focus games which helps our students to improve concentration and listening skills * active drama games which help to improve physical skills and gain a sense of place and spatial awareness * improvisation games improve imagination and communication skills and team working. We use a variety of drama scripts both commercial and devised plus poems and adaptations of classic children's stories. The classes are growing rapidly and pre-booking is recommended for new students. If a youngster attending our Satuday group has a buddy they can attend free of charge. However, a buddy is not essential as we are a friendly group and have lots of people who are happy to help new members settle in quickly and a great team of support staff

Adult Jazz Freestyle Dance


Line, Jazz, Stage, Freestyle, Rock 'n' Roll (Ballroom) Instruction at Beginner to Int/Advanced level, Practice, Social Dancing at Beginner to Int/Advanced level. Doors open 20:25. Admission £5.00. Bring your own drinks.A small, friendly class for all ages (current age range 25 to 60 years). Using jazz based freestyle dance to Improve flexibility & fitness. We teach both choreographed dances and create new routines as a group and enjoy a variety of performance opportunities through the year. No previous dance experience is necessary and no partner needed. There is ample free on-site parking and participants should bring a drink and wear comfortable stretch clothing and either jazz shoes/sneakers or daps.

Adult special/additional needs dance & drama class
Line, Freestyle Show, Instruction at Complete Novice to Intermediate level. Admission £4.00. £24.00 for all sessions. Bring your own drinks.This class is aimed at adults with learning difficulties/additional needs and runs throughout the year (including school holidays) except bank holidays and 2 weeks staff holiday annually. The class is paced to stretch all students while adapting our teaching style to ensure that everyone can learn at a pace suitable to their ability and learning style. The dance style taught is a fusion of freestyle and line dancing providing a challenging and exciting range of choreographed routines. All students are supported to ensure they can achieve their potential and everyone is offered the opportunity to take IDTA medal tests, perform in shows and to participate in public displays/charity events. The classes are relaxed and friendly and numbers are kept low to allow us to get to know each person and identify times when students may need a little extra help or encouragement. Support workers are welcome to participate free of charge.
