A multi-cultural company of 5 musicians and 5 dancers move through the moods and rhythms of Baladi. Urban re-interpretations of rural Egyptian music are mirrored by a sophisticated, expressive dance style developed amongst the streets and social gatherings of Cairo. Improvising and drawing on the mood of the moment Layla Kabira presents an exciting, spontaneous, never to be repeated, event. Alongside the performances there will be workshops with live music for dancers and a unique opportunity for musicians to learn Arabic music from master musicians.
