Tango is walking in a close embrace. An intimate connection between the couple allows the improvisation of a variety of elegant steps. The basic elements of Tango can be enjoyed fairly quickly but it can take years to achieve its higher form. Tango de Salón is a social dance close to the roots of traditional tango. Unlike stage tango choreographed and performed for an audience, Tango de Salón is totally improvised with the partners focused on each other and the music. Tango is a spontaneous and creative dance.
