Chris Corcoran began his career in Manchester on the club circuit as a solo performer, and quickly progressed into repertory and major touring theatre. For 27 years he worked almost without a break in pieces as diverse as Miller's Death of a Salesman to Lloyd Webber's Evita. He then moved into TV as a programme director, working on Hollyoaks, Brookside, Grange Hill and The Royal Today. He's seen 'The Business' from both sides of the audition table, and is passionate about passing on his vast knowledge and helping the new thrusting talent of his hometown and beyond. Run for and by working professionals with great industry contacts, and advice and support from Actor's Union, Equity, this course will help actors trying to break into the industry and those already established looking to enhance their skills. These will be intensive, demanding sessions, run over ten-week courses through out the year. Work-Study participants are selected through an application and interview process. You must already be living in the area of the studio to apply for this program, and be a EU citizen. Once accepted into the program, Work-Study students are assigned a work schedule in various positions in the studio or on the cleaning staff in exchange for discounted classes/courses. For every hour of work in this program, the student earns a free/discounted class/course! Not only will gain training but also an insight into the industry and an opportunity to network with professionals in the industry. Sunshine Studios Lockin Classes Sunshine Studios one of Europe's largest dance and arts facilities is offering a Hip Hop Dance Sunday school for both children and adults to train and learn from many of the dance industries top professionals from around the world, with experience of work with many the worlds biggest stars and world famous shows. Locking (originally Campbellocking) is a style of funk dance, which is today also associated with hip hop. The name is based on the concept of locking movements, which basically means freezing from a fast movement and ""locking"" in a certain position, holding that position for a short while and then continuing in the same speed as before. It relies on fast and distinct arm and hand movements combined with more relaxed hips and legs. The movements are generally large and exaggerated, and often very rhythmic and tightly synced with the music.
