Everyone thinks that body sculpting went out with leotards, shoulder pads and frizzy perms, but Body Sculpting classes based on the principals that made Callanetics so popular in the 80's are rumoured to be the secret behind Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow's age-defying bodies. Here at Etrois we've taken principals, like those adopted in Callanetics exercises and produced our own intense but low impact course that can work for every body. By isolating muscle groups and using tiny, precise (yet powerful) movements, these exercises tighten and reshape your body while increasing strength, flexibility and body alignment. There are two classes 7-8pm and 8-9pm. The course is 6 weeks in duration and costs £30. All our classes require a £10 deposit to book your place. | |||

Taking inspiration from the likes of Dita von Tease, Sally Rand and Immodesty Blaize, our classical burlesque classes give you some tips and tricks to get you embracing the glamour and sex appeal of Burlesque. Seduction is not dead and buried, in fact it's very much alive and kicking those boundaries down with a very big stiletto heel! Burlesque dancing encourages women to push their own boundaries, which in turn increases their self-esteem and leaves them feeling fabulous. At Etrois we want to share with you our experience of the stage, and we've tried to do this through our Burlesque Courses in which we offer Beginner and Show levels. Beginners Burlesque teaches you basic moves, poses and styles to break you into burlesque with a shimmy and a giggle and the Show Course gives you a chance to shake your tail feathers on stage with other professional burlesque and cabaret performers at an Etrois show. It could be from the best MTV Divas like Beyonce and PCDs, or it could be a routine choreographed by Etrois' founder Ellouise Hempstead. Incorporating cardiovascular movements with the sexiest forms of dance and poise, BK will have you shedding those calories in no time. To book or for further details: Info, Tel: 07990991588. Hula Hooping is a great way to stay fit, have fun, make friends and tone those problem areas (bums and tums). It's fantastic for strengthening core stability and improving balance and coordination. Etrois run Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Hoop Jamming Courses. The great thing about Hula Hooping is that to get started on the beginners course experience isn't essential, it's about getting you moving and burning those calories. Hula hoops are provided for you, so all you need to do is turn up! 6 week courses £30. 11am-12pm Drop in Classes 10am-11am £5each. Courses are 1hour in duration and are held at BodyGuards Gym, Clayton St, Jesmond. Etrois hire out the gym for our classes, so they are private and for women only. Some of our past pupils have gone on to have professional careers on stage and on TV into teaching, choreography, fitness.
